Getting Involved

We are all very excited about the conference and wanted to offer you the opportunity of getting involved.

1. We have created slots for very quick presentations for anyone (staff or students) to tell us about a tool or give us a tip about how you have been using one of the many applications available today.  This can be anything at all as long as you have found it useful.  We have some guidelines to give you an idea of what we are looking for and if you have any questions then please get in touch.

2. Twitter users, we have a Twitter # for the event.  Please use this before, during and after the event #sotondiglit

3. We wanted to use social media as much as possible to enhance your expereince and to get across effective use of technology for an event like this.  To that end we have a competition for the conference.  We want you to take photos, record as much as possible and then create your own Storify.  We also have a Flickr account setup to allow you to post your photos.  All the links mentioned on the day will be recorded and added to our social bookmarking tool of choice, Delicious.

4.  For those of you who are not yet involved in the use of Social Media or haven’t yet had a ‘go’ (whioch is why you are coming along in the first place!) help is at hand.  We have arranged for the Student Digital Champions to be available on the day and we have a ‘Helpdesk’.  There will be a board in place for you to leave ‘real’ as opposed to ‘virtual comments’.

We look forward to meeting you all in a few weeks time.

Best wishes

Fiona, Lisa and the Student Digital Literacies Champions
